We cover a breadth of specialisms and are always pragmatic with our advice. With offices in Guildford, Leeds, Cardiff, and Birmingham, our teams assist with, ecological advice, surveys and assessments, habitat design and creation, ecological contracting, invasive species management, freshwater and marine consultancy, arboriculture, data management and mapping and last but not least, laboratory analysis including marine benthic taxonomy.

The role

As part of our marine team you will be involved in benthic faunal sample analysis for a variety of exciting projects from both the UK and abroad. You will be given the opportunity to learn taxonomic identification skills from world experts and will become involved in other areas such as Particle Size Analysis and fisheries. You will be either a recent graduate or have worked in a laboratory already. Ideally, you will be immediately available, or ready to start in your new role in the New Year!

The successful candidate must have

  • a degree in Marine Biology or a related subject
  • the ability to work to the pressures of a commercial laboratory
  • an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn

Ideally you will also have

  • previous experience in benthic faunal sample processing
  • experience of Particle Size Analysis
  • experience of fisheries work
  • experience of statistical analysis packages such as Primer.

Shortlisted candidates will be expected to undertake a technical assessment to demonstrate their skills in identification of fauna. These two opportunities are offered on a permanent basis and are based at our modern offices on the picturesque Surrey Research Park in Guildford. The successful candidates will live within commuting distance of Guildford or be prepared to relocate.
