HR and Training Administrator

We, Thomson Environmental Consultants, have an exciting opportunity for an HR and Training Administrator to join our talented team, based at our head office in Guildford, on the beautiful Surrey Research Park.  Reporting to the Head of HR, this role is a fantastic way to gain further experience across all aspects of HR, Recruitment and Training/Talent and learn from a strong, high performing team in a growing company.

The role will provide support to the entire HR “lifecycle” with insight to recruitment and onboarding, talent development and training, support to ER matters and a focus on driving employee engagement. With the company’s recent decision to becoming employee-owned (EOT), there is a huge platform for interesting projects in the engagement space. This role will always be busy and provide for continuous learning.

You’ll need to have strong organisation and time management skills, the ability to plan and prioritise your workload effectively in order to meet tight deadlines and a “can do” attitude. You’ll also have the opportunity to communicate and work with all levels within the organisation. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment would be advantageous. A positive approach, willingness to go the “extra mile” and a sense humour will fit in well with the rest of the team.

Successful candidates must be

  • organised, efficient and able to work under pressure
  • supportive, flexible and happy to go the extra mile
  • professional and clear communication skills (written and verbal)
  • personal interest in furthering their HR experience and skills
  • computer literate with experience using all of MS Office (primarily Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • with experience in an HR administrative role / team previously with a desire to learn
