Thomson Habitats and Thomson Ecology join forces on new school project

Thomson Habitats has worked with our sister company, Thomson Ecology, to facilitate the construction of a new school and associated leisure facilities.

Following Thomson Ecology’s earlier involvement providing the ecological surveys and associated mitigation strategies, Thomson Habitats was contracted to support the reptile translocation works.

Thomson Habitats supplied and installed almost 1km of temporary reptile fencing and localised vegetation clearance.

Working closely alongside the LPA Tree Office and our in-house arboricultural consultants, we designed and installed a bespoke reptile fencing design around root protection areas. The design helped to prevent damage to the tree root system and also helped to reduce compaction.

Despite the tight time frame and the specific root protection area requirements, the works were completed to programme.
