I’m developing and expanding the climate and sustainability business area. I help our clients and Thomson environmental consultants transition to net zero and operate more sustainably.

Where did you study?
Lancaster University where I read BSc (Hons) Environmental Science (Hydrogeology) and achieved a 1st class degree.
What made you choose this career path?
I am from a military background and was lucky to live in some wonderful places, which nurtured a love of the world around me. When I was 11 years old, I was fortunate to go to a middle school that taught environmental studies, which included a week’s residential at Juniper Hall, near Dorking. My experience stayed with me and when I returned to education as a mature student, it steered me toward Environmental Science and ultimately sustainability.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Living the ‘good life’, running, cycling, hiking, climbing, kayaking and riding my motorbike.
What is your favourite book and why?
Stark (or any book) by Ben Elton. Takes serious issues and makes them funny
What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened at work?
Having to track down and secure a 3.5 tonne white rhino that had escaped from Dalton-in-Furness Wild Animal Park…
