Tell us about your role at Thomson.

As Head of Marine, I oversee the winning and delivery of all marine projects. Responsibilities include programme management, resourcing, producing bid submissions, ensuring clients are happy with our services, budget management, people management, managing production of marketing content.

What do you like about working for Thomson?

My role is unique and varied, a good mix of technical, commercial, and managerial. Working on our macrofaunal sample analysis means I get to see fauna from all over the world and from deep-sea environments, which is always exciting and means I am continually learning.

What does a typical day at work look like?

Carrying out quality control of macrofaunal sample analysis – checking the accuracy of faunal extraction and species identifications of other analysts. Responding to enquiries and talking to clients to discuss their upcoming requirements. Reviewing and approving bid submissions, then programming in new jobs.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Going to gigs and playing piano
