What is your role at Thomson?

As COO, I lead the senior leadership team and I’m accountable for achieving or exceeding our business plan objectives. I am responsible for the business operations team and the IT strategy, making sure that these are aligned to support our client facing teams.

Why do you like working at Thomson?

The protection of species, creation of new habitats and improvements in sustainability have never been more important. It is great to work for a company that is part of the solution rather than the problem. Thomson is a rapidly growing business with all of the opportunities and challenges associated with it.

How long have you worked for Thomson?

Since October 2020

What does a typical day at work look like?

Most of my time is spent meeting with the directors of our various business units, discussing solutions to challenges and developing new opportunities.

Where did you study?

University of Southampton

What made you choose this career path?

Having done a Management Science and Accounting degree, I have always been interested in businesses, how they are run and finding process efficiencies, particularly through the use of technology.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I play badminton for a club in our local leagues. I am also a level 2 badminton coach and enjoy developing the next generation of players.
