Water is one of our most precious natural resources.

Without it, there would be no life on earth. Hydrology has evolved as a science in response to the need to understand the complex water system of the earth and help solve water problems. Although it is plentiful, water is not always in the right place at the right time or of the right quality.

Our aim

An overall aim of hydrologists is to apply scientific knowledge and mathematical principles to mitigate water-related problems in society and environmental protection. This may mean working out the best use of water supplies for cities or for irrigation, controlling river flooding or soil erosion, protecting or cleaning up pollution, and planning long-term water storage reservoirs, flood risk assessment and flood or drought warnings.

What we do

Our specialists carry out investigations and modelling, supporting infrastructure developments and regulators and have worked on a variety of projects, including international work such as large-scale wetland restoration works at Al Ha’ir Lakes in Saudi Arabia.
