Tell us about your role at Thomson.
My role involves managing the Leeds team, and the projects we deliver.
As a Senior Ecological Consultant, I am responsible for the effective management of large-scale projects, maintaining and developing client relations, delivering high-quality work, and continuing to develop my technical knowledge and experience.
My role as team lead and office manager involves working closely with my team to develop their expertise and foster a motivated and inspired culture driven to achieve our targets, while consistently demonstrating and instilling our company values.
Why do you like working at Thomson?
I’m part of a passionate and professional workforce. I regularly collaborate with my colleagues in our different offices and business units (not to mention our amazing central support team), as there is such a wealth of expertise in the company.
As cliché as it sounds, I feel like I’m learning something new every day. Whether that’s around technical knowledge, business development and strategy, or project and people management, Thomson really invest in their staff and I feel that I’m constantly developing and progressing as a commercial consultant.

Full-time since March 2017, with some seasonal work in 2016.

There isn’t a typical day at Thomson, and that’s what keeps it interesting!
Where did you study?
I studied Ecology at the University of Hull, within the Centre for Environmental and Marine Sciences.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have a sheepdog-cross called Fig.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Rummaging through second-hand furniture centres and scouring eBay for a mid-century bargain.
