New homes for birds, bats and hedgehogs

We have been working on our client’s site in Littlehampton in Sussex to install bird, bat and hedgehog boxes.

The area, which was once farmland, is being developed by a large housing developer. The first phase of building is now complete, and 115 houses have been built.

As part of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH), certain measures had to be put into place to mitigate negative impacts on wildlife, including installing boxes for birds, bats and hedgehogs. The CSH is an assessment method for rating and certifying the environmental performance of new homes. It is a Government-owned national standard intended to encourage continuous improvement in sustainable home building.
