Habitat creation team busier than ever

The contracting arm of our business, Thomson Habitats, have had an exceptionally busy summer managing development works for a wide range of clients.

Projects have included the design and management of habitat enhancements for reptiles on a large flood defence scheme in Exeter and the sensitive manipulation of habitat to displace reptiles from the area as well as clearing invasive Himalayan balsam from the site.

To facilitate another client’s redevelopment of Aldershot army barracks, as well as improvements of the nearby A331 slip road, Thomson Habitats installed temporary wildlife fencing to prevent reptiles from being harmed during the development works, and areas of vegetation were cleared to enable the client’s ground investigation works.
